A lookback law (or "lookback window") is a temporary legislative measure that suspends the statute of limitations, allowing victims of sexual abuse to file civil lawsuits for previously time-barred, historical claims. These laws, such as New York's Child Victims Act and Adult Survivors Act, enable survivors to seek justice for abuse that occurred years or decades prior.
