Captive audience meetings are mandatory meetings, often held by employers during union organizing campaigns, where they express their views on unionization, usually against it. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has ruled that such meetings, where employees are compelled to attend under threat of discipline, are unlawful because they interfere with employees' right to organize. 
 
Additionally, in business generally we often find ourselves captive in someone's required meeting.
